Ketchup-scented Spareribs Recipe:
Almost everyone loves ketchup, but have you ever tried cooking them with spareribs? In this ketchup-scented spareribs recipe, juicy spareribs will give you a surprise.
 
Prep time: 20 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
 
Utensils:
Wok, bowl, plate.
 
Serves 2
 
Ingredients:
7 oz./200g spareribs, cut into 1-inch length
3 tbsps.ketchup
3 slices ginger
2 tbsps.white sugar, or to taste
1 tbsp.white rice vinegar
1 tbsp.salt, or to taste
2 tbsps.vegetable oil for stir-frying
2 tbsps.olive oil
1 tbsp.cornstarch, mixed with 4 tbsps.water in a bowl
Directions:

1. Place the spareribs in a bowl, add 1 tbsp.salt, 2 tbsps.olive oil and 3 slices ginger, mix well and let them marinate for 20 minutes (P1).

2. Preheat a wok over high heat for 30 seconds, add 2 tbsps.vegetable oil and drizzle, let it coat both the sides and the bottom of the wok, when the oil is hot, add marinated spareribs back into the wok (P2).

3. Swirl into 3 tbsps.ketchup and 1/2-1 cup water, cover and let cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the spareribs are tender.

4. Add 2 tbsps.white sugar and 1 tbsp.white rice vinegar, stirring, tossing gently once or twice.

5. Give the cornstarch and water mixture a stir and swirl into the wok in which it was cooked, stir quickly to thicken (P3).

6. Stir briefly to mix everything together, then remove from the wok and serve hot (P4).
