Spicy and Sour Tofu Recipe

Spicy and Sour Tofu Recipe:
This spicy and sour tofu recipe is an easy, but impressive tofu dish. And the combination of chili powder and ketchup really adds a subtle accent to this easy-to-make recipe.
 
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 5 minutes
 
Utensils:
Wok, colander for drain tofu, serving plate.
Makes 1 portion of spicy and sour tofu.
 
Ingredients: (P1)
7 oz.(200g) firm tofu
1/2-1 tomato
1 tbsp.chopped coriander leaves
4 cloves curshed garlic
1 tbsp.chopped scallion
1 tbsp.minced fresh ginger root
2 tbsp.vegetable oil
2 cups water

Seasonings:
1 tbsp.bean sauce
1 tbsp.ketchup
1 tbsp.soy sauce, low sodium
1 tbsp.rice vinegar
1 tbsp.sesame oil
1 tbsp.chili powder
1 tbsp.ground black pepper
Salt and MSG to taste
Directions:
1. Cut tofu and tomato into small cubes, about 1-inch long, place tofu cubes on a plate for later use.
2. Heat 2 tbsp.vegetable oil in a wok on high heat, when hot, saute bean sauce briefly until aromatic. Then add 2 cups water and 2 tsp.salt, reduce heat to low and bring to a simmer until the sauce thickens.
3. Spoon the thickened sauce over tofu cubes evenly, then add tomato cubes, coriander leaves, scallion, ginger and garlic, stir in all the seasonings, combine to mix well.
4. Taste and season with salt and MSG if necessary. Serve warm or cold (P2).
