This braising tilapia recipe lets the tilapia be the star, and the flavorful marinade sauce gently cooks the fish in a tasty manner. See how to make a mouth-watering tilapia at home.

Utensils:

Wok, bowl, plate.

 

Serves 2

 

Ingredients:
1 tilapia
1 tbsp.chopped scallion
2-3 slices ginger, peeled
2 tbsps.vegetable oil
3-5 cups water
1 tbsp.freshly chopped coriander
Marinade:
1-2 tbsps.light soy sauce
1-2 tsp.salt, or to taste
1tbsp.cornstarch, mixed in 1-2 tsp.water
Directions:
1. Before cook, discard the scales, gills and the internal organs of the tilapia, then rinse well through running water. Cut into sections and coat with the marinade in a plate. Let marinate for about 20-30 minutes (P1).

2. Add 2 tbsps.vegetable oil in a wok, heat until the oil is hot, then saute the chopped scallion and ginger until aromatic, about 20 seconds. Add the tilapia back into the wok, stir fry bothsides for about 2 minutes (P2).

3. Pour 3-5 cups water into the wok, cover and let braise over low heat for 20-30 minutes, or until cooked (P3).

4. Dish out onto a plate, garnishing with a sprinkling of chopped coriander before serving (P4).
