This crispy prawn recipe is a true Chinese comfort food classic. Crispy and golden-brown prawns are ready to coat with your favorite sauce.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Utensils:
Wok, colander, kitchen pappers, bowl, plate.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
10 oz./ 300 g prawn, peeled, deveined1 tbsp.ground black pepper1 tsp.salt, or to taste1/2 cup flour2 tbsps.beer5 tbsps.vegetable oil for deep-frying
Directions:
1. Add prawns, 1 tsp.salt, and 1 tbsp.ground black pepper in a bowl, stir to mix well, let set for 15 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup flour and 2 tbsps.beer, the batter should be thick, place the marinated prawns into the bowl, lightly coated (P1).
P13. Heat 5 tbsps.vegetable oil in a wok over high heat, when the oil is shimmering on the bottom and very hot, but not yet smoking, add coated prawns and deep-fry until golden-brown (P2).
P24. Drain in a colander and pat dry with kitchen papers, serve on a plate (P3).
