Simmer Lotus Root with Meat Recipe:
Simmer lotus root with meat is a very good side dish for you, it combines 2 easy-to-prep ingredients-lotus root and pork-for an simple, delicious dish. 
 
Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
 
Utensils:
Wok, pot, bowl.
 
Serves 2 as a side dish.
 
Ingredients:
18 oz./500 g lotus root
9 oz./250 g ground pork
1 tbsp.vegetable oil
5-8 cups water
Seasonings:
A: 1 tbsp.light soy sauce
1 tsp.Chinese rice wine, or dry sherry
1 tsp.salt, or to taste
1 tsp.white sugar
1 tsp.cornstarch
B: 1 tbsp.light soy sauce
1 tsp.Chinese rice wine, or dry sherry
1 tsp.salt, or to taste
1 tsp.white sugar
1 tsp.cornstarch
Directions:
1. Rinse the lotus root through running water, remove any dirt or sand, then drain well, grate well with a grater.
2. In a bowl, combine the grated lotus root with seasoning A, drizzle 1 tbsp.vegetable oil, then mix well (P1).

3. In a separate bowl, combine the ground pork with seasoning B and mix well, add the grated lotus root into the ground pork mixture and stir to mix well, let it marinate for 30 minutes (P2).

4. Put a large pot of water on to boil, put on the basket, then put the bowl on it, steam for about 25 minutes, or until cooked.
5. Remove to a bowl and serve (P3).
