Green beans are members of the common bean family, usually green in color with small beans inside and long tender edible pods covered, they used to be called string beans as the side strings that they had before. They come into a variety of types including purple, green, white, and yellow, as well as flat and round in shape. In China, it is a common vegetable as its cirsp texture and unique flavor.

You can find them year-round in many supermarkets, with a peak in summer months.
Purchasing tips:
When choosing green beans, select beans that are clean, tender, crisp, well-shaped, and smooth, select carefully to avoid mould or shriveled beans.
Storage:
Keep moisture by rinse under cold running water before you put them in plastic bags, then refrigerate, can keep for 4 days or so.
Preparation:
Snap off the stem ends, pull off the side strings if necessary. Then cut into sections or according to the recipes, then ready to cook.
