Green peas, also known as sweet peas, are members of the legume family that contain small peas lined inside the pods. Green peas are commonly used in broth for flavor, but the strings are unedible.

Green peas are available from February to September.
Purchasing tips:
When choosing green peas, select the pods that are bright green in color and velvety in texture, with peas barely fill the pod, avoid flat, wilted, or mouldy peas.
Storage:
Place green peas in a plastic bag and refrigerate for about 2-3 days.
Preparation and Usage:
Pop open the pods and discard, use the peas.
