The medlar is a small fascinating applelike fruit that is open at the bottom end, exposing the five inner seed boxes, the flesh of which is hard and green when ripe, and slightly sweet, similar to wine taste.

Purchasing tips:
When choosing medlars, select barely soft or soft ones with brown in color, avoid any wilted spots.
Storage:
Please store them in a cool, and dry place, do not put them under the sun.
Preparation and Usage:
Rinse thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or sand, then cut lengthwise into half, discard the hard seed and scoop out the pulp. You can either roast them with other vegetables or fruits as a dessert, or add into soups.
