Turnip:
A turnip is an edible root vegetable which has white-skinned tomato-shaped roots, green leaves and interior white flesh. It is widely cultivated all over the world for food as well. In cooking, turnip can be boiled, fried, roasted, or even eat raw. The green leaves are also called ”turnip greens”, or “turnip tops”, resemble to mustard greens in flavor. However, both the leaves and root do have a cabbage or radishes-like flavor.

Young turnips are more juicy and crunchy, while as they grow older and larger, they become woody in texture. So, try purchasing the younger ones.
Storage:
Keep turnips in a cool and dark place or store in plastic bags and refrigerte in the vegetable crisper for about 2 weeks.
